Networking is important for business. This is something I learnt early on in my career. As a business owner since 2014 I’ve become acutely aware of it. However, as someone who is naturally shy, networking is not a skill that comes naturally.
I love teaching others. This love of teaching comes from loving learning. When you approach life as a learner regardless of experience or knowledge, you’re in the box seat to win. Attending the 2017 Social Media Marketing World was a perfect opportunity to learn.
As a business owner, you go to business meetings, networking events and conferences. You meet new people all the time. You end up with pockets full of business cards. Every single one of these business cards is an opportunity. Rather than just add them to your email database and automatically send them emails (I do not recommend this!), use digital to enhance the initial connection and create opportunities.
Business. The art of creating one and making it successful can be a tricky mix.
I’m often asked how do you do it? My specialisation is online presence. The common mistake here is that I must only be online to be successful. The reality couldn’t be further from the truth.
